Present Day:

the noise was coming from, she went left, then right, the closer she got to right the louder it sounded, she finally convinced herself to look over the hedge, and when she did
she saw her neighbor laid over the bed, bottom bright red with slight bruising, while her husband continued to smack her with a round clear plastic paddle, this sight turned Grace on
so much, she couldn't pull her eyes away from the scene, she was trying to listen closer but got stuck by the hedge.
" Damn, Rose bush!" she said quietly, she turned and went into her house to remove the thorn.

The two ladies returned to the kitchen, fixed the plates and drinks, they called james to join them, they sat and ate, when it was time for dessert Cathy let James know what was up.
